CSS & IE kissing in a tree. NOT!

Spent the day at work today trying to find out WTH was going on with a repeating background image which wouldn't show in IE for Win. Turns out it was a problem with MS' idea of layout. I finally got some help from this guy. He refered to this article on layout. In order to understand the many many bugs of the different IE's reading this article should give you a good head start. You will recognize many of the hacks ("They are not hacks" argue as you want, at least you know what I'm talking about), but I find them easier when I actually understand why they work as well.
